Accommodations

We have put together a list of options, tips and suggestions for you in booking your hotel/accommodations in Boston for the Tournament particularly for those unfamiliar with Boston. If you have any further questions, please feel free to email us at btpc@bgbl.com.

We are pleased to let you know that the BTPC Tournament Committee has arranged for an outstanding discount at the Boston Marriott Copley Place of $199/night during our tournament weekend (rack rate at this time is $299). For those who are not familiar with hotels in Boston, you should know this is an amazing offer for this time of year. The hotel is perfectly located for the tournament with easy access to the courts, shops, restaurants and nightlife.

The Marriott has blocked off 50 rooms which they will hold until September 25, 2009 or until supply is booked. In order to receive the discounted rate, you must directly contact Tiffany Lung.

Location Considerations

Boston University FitRec center is located on the B Train of the Green Line (St. Paul Street stop) and is only a few stops past Kenmore Square and Fenway Park. The area with the largest concentration of hotels, close proximity to the Green Line and the bars would be the Back Bay. Names of other areas you will find the city grouped into that have large groupings of hotels and that are easily accessible to the T are: Fenway (the area around Fenway Park), Beacon Hill, Downtown/Financial District, and the Waterfront.

Evening events will be held at locations in the Fenway, Back Bay and South End neighborhoods. Boston is not an exceptionally large city so be sure to check out Google maps or something similar.

If you want to look in Cambridge which on the other side of the Charles River from BU, there are a lot of hotel choices there as well. Though we suggest a taxi as the T route is a long one. Alston/Brighton and Brookline are close in proximity to BU but may not be the most convenient. Be sure to check with the hotel where the closest T stop is. These locations will be further away from the nightlife.
